The C word

I used this image, because it’s a reminder of how we as a country messed up. We allowed Japan to attack us due to doubt in our technology at time. However we eventually regrouped and won the war when they awoke the sleeping giant in the USA. Many of us are sleeping giants, not living up to our potential. Sometimes it takes adversity to make us aware of that.

Be ahead of the curve

A unique experience that was ahead of the curve. We had an Ethiopian gathering during one of my visits to Charlotte, where as an American I performed an Ethiopia Coffee Ceremony with my friends from around the world. It was a fascinating moment for us all appreciating each other and the culture we were experiencing.

Maktub (It is written), Stay true to the vision

The sky on Oct 1, 2020 as I walked back to my wife’s room at the hospital, preparing for the birth of our daughter. It simply felt like a day, all the dots were connecting. As I like to share in my poetry I write “dot by dot I was led by your line, is it coincidence, or is there a parallel in all my incidents.” On this day, I knew it wasn’t coincidence, but that “it was written.”

This was someone’s home in Vietnam, many times it’s their work place as well. The murky water is a sign of the heavy extraction of resources in the area. The church and government were working with this boat community to create a new and better economy to support these people.

Expect to fail!

Fire! This was the second batch of beans I roasted seasoning my roaster. It was an epic fail and fire. Thankfully safety first and all was ok. Embarrassing though.

Invest, but do so wisely

The mobile coffee experience I offer in Herndon, Virginia. These are some of my investments I made early on, between buying an SUV, eventually an espresso machine, then a generator and cargo carriage after wards to move around efficiently.
