France Day 5 Loire Valley
After 4 winery visits yesterday, and a bunch of walking and shopping, we were a bit fatigued. We decided to keep it simple today and rest a little. The day began with an attempt at going to church, but we must’ve misunderstood something and there was no liturgy. So instead we just viewed the 800 year old church and made our way through the town of Amboise. After finding some fun little shops and a nice bakery for a light lunch, we made our way back to Tours for a special statue for my collection that I have had a challenging time obtaining. It didn’t work out again, and instead we just called it a day and went back to our room for a rest before heading to Chateau De Chenounceau.
We decided to go here instead of a house Leonardo Davinci spent his last days in, due to the character of this castle. The audio guide gave a nice tour, and more so it reminded me of a smaller Biltmore Estates. Monica made the point that because it was from the Renaissance age, it reflected that style and extravagance of those times. Biltmore was a couple centuries later. We took some nice pictures with the scenery and headed back to our room for a final meal in our cozy hotel, in addition to packing for our final full day in Paris.
